Local Chefs Contribute Recipes to Online Cookbook to Feed the Hungry
Jessica Rosen Klein is a restaurant publicist who unfortunately is now out of work due to Covid-19. Seeing what has happened to the hospitality industry has been devastating to say the least.
After seeing so many chefs donate their time to feeding the hungry and those on the frontlines battling this horrific disease, she partnered with Susanna Sussman of Mealson-Wheels of White Plains, and Johnny Livanos (Moderne Barn and City Limits) to create “Westchester Cooks,” an online cookbook filled with recipes from chefs, restaurateurs, writers and area-cookbook authors. All proceeds are donated to Lifting Up Westchester, an organization that provides food, shelter and support to those in need, right here in our own community.
After watching so many restaurants start funds for their employees and/or donate food to our health care workers, they wanted to “cook up” something a little different. Well they certainly did “cook up” something!
“Westchester Cooks” includes recipes from chefs all over Westchester – X20 in Yonkers, Sonora in Portchester, The Cookery in Dobbs Ferry, Maria’s in New Rochelle, Sam’s of Gedney Way in White Plains, Moderne Barn in Armonk, Lulu’s in Scarsdale and more.
Click here to order your copy of these coveted recipes. Just a $10 donation and the on-line cookbook will find its way directly to your inbox. Now that we are all cooking more at home, why not enjoy one of these fabulous meals “cooked up” in your own kitchen!
